Please - Let's help Kevin

Please read this very sad story and pledge your support and help.

I can't believe it.  I'm struggling to find the words.  Discrimination of this sort is beyond anything I can ever imagine.  This poor poor lad.  The way I love to travel it looks as though that will come to an end.  Companies hiding behind health and safety to mask their prejudice against fat people. What about the disabled?  Do they not travel?  What about the health and safety issues for them?  I can't imagine what Kevin Chenais and his family are going through.

I'm giving British Airways, Eurostar and the Cruiseliner a big fat FatFreindly score of 0!!!  Shame on you.  You can make exceptions when it pleases you.  But your prejudice has been plain for all to see.  Shame! shame! Shame!  All the big people in the world.  I beg you to petition your friends and family.  Anyone who travels with these two companies to boycott them.

Thank you Virgin for getting him home from America.  You get a big fa FatFriendly score of 5*!  :)

Virgin, just once more please get him home to France.  He will feel better once he is in his home and away from all the prejudice and heartache.  Please Virgin get him home to France.

If Virgin won't help then bigYoutifuls help me help Kevin.  Kevin and his family will need to hire a mini van and a driver to take him and his family across the channel from England to France if none of the airlines will help.  I'm calling out to individuals and major plus size organisations and stores.  This is your chance to give someone who has been through a bit of an ordeal an early Christmas present.  I don't always get responses to my blogs and I'm okay with that normally but this time I hope I hear some voices and that I am not alone in my pledge to help a fellow plus size bigger person end his horrific ordeal.  Please if you can help financially then dig deep.  I don't want the money.  Too often people think you are trying to get money for yourself.  But if you are an organisation who wants to help.  I can let you have Kevin and his family's details as well as source details of mini vans and drivers willing to take them home and you can pay hid direct.  we can do this bigYoutifuls.  Please exercise your charitable arm once more for Kevin's sake. What I would ask is if you can't help them please email me your message of support and encouragement for Kevin which I will pass on to him and his parents.  If you are parents who have faced this with your child email encouragement for his parents too.  This might help him and his parents know they are not alone.

Now bigYoutifuls it's easy to stay positive and keep each other in the pink but see how some of us are treated and just read below the level of prejudice and cruelty that is still out there.  Lest we live in our little plus size positive bubbles.   Here's what the world is still thinking.  There is more work to do my friends.  it doesn't stop with making ourselves beautiful.  it's about fighting prejudice and educating the ignorant.  Not one of the comments in the story was in support of Kevin.  It was a tirade of abuse against fat people and ignorant perceptions.  One wonders what kind of 'super blood and bodies' slim people feel they have when comparing themselves against fat people.  Suddenly they are disabled proof.  I don't wish ill for anyone but who's to say tomorrow something happens to you to make you disabled.  How would you feel looking back at comments like these below.  Warning they will make you angry and sad.

But you stay beYoutiful    bigYoutifuls!  Pay it forward and pass this on!

Did you complain whilst sat next to the woman or discuss the matter discretely with a steward/ess? Just wondered if it pays to make a scene or if they would rather deal with such a problem quietly. Nice one for fighting for your rights though.

Ryanair had the right idea Pay for extra weight over 15 stone.
Lets face it, when we are sat on our plane seat during boarding and we see a huge fat person coming up the aisle, we all pray that they are not sat beside us. If its a hugely oversized couple we are practically sweating with... More

I was sitting in my local Asda car park the other night...this middle aged woman came out of the shop on a scooter, she must have been in her 50's and 20 stone at least...her mother was normal build and probably in her 70's at least. The fat woman got behind the wheel while the elderly mother put... More

Hormone problem again?. I had to endure a 10 hour flight from Mexico to the UK with an obese woman sitting next to me, well trying, and, she had the audacity to complain! I had the problem more than her, Her body overflowed over to me. Massive woman, and her partner/husband wasn't far off. I... More

Having a disability is a sad but when it affects the lives of well abled people its a pain in the #$%$. We ought to build shopping centres, hotels, holiday homes, factories and housing estates solely for the disabled. They could be specially designed to cater for their special needs. That would... More

This issue is quickly becoming a publicity stunt that in the end I fear will discriminate any more disabled persons more than they already are.

All he has to do, is with friends hire a small transit style van/minibus, and use that vehicle to travel across via Euro tunnel. Which i know from... More

It always amazes me just how stupid people can be. CLEARLY when a person weighs 32 stone, there are going to be MAJOR restrictions and limitations to how and where you can travel. To say that he was left feeling "empty" by British Airways decision beggars belief.
